What is Rapunzel?
  In the original story by the Brothers Grimm, the mother of the girl has a terrible craving of "Rapunzel" in the middle of pregnancy, and for this reason the father down to the garden to steal a few. Story: 

A couple wants a child lived next to a garden surrounded by walls belonging to a witch. The wife finally pregnant, note some rapunceles planted in the garden, and longs for death. Her husband decides to gather some for her and ends up clashing with the enchantress, the Lady Gothel, who accuses him of theft. He begs for mercy, then the witch gives some rapunceles to take them home with the condition that the child she is expecting his wife to be delivered at the time of birth. He accepts. The baby is born, the witch appears, designate the name of Rapunzel and takes. When you turn twelve and become a young woman, the sorceress locks her in a tower in the middle of the forest.
